Fall vs Autumn

Some people call it fall, fewer people seem to call it Autumn- however you label this upcoming, glorious season.... the question is- are you looking forward to it? It is sometime before 6am before I leave for Sea-Tac this morning and what else would I do but blog? It somehow has the same effect as coffee- or so I like to tell myself. But I realize how close Autumn is (if you don't follow that crap about the beginning of each season happening around the 20th) and shriek with joy! LEAVES, COCOA, DAY-AFTER SALES!!!! How can you resist this season? MMM... BACK TO SCHOOL SALES, THANKSGIVING MEALS, BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS... it's the time of year where I wouldn't mind receiving a freshly sharpened bouquet of pencils. So, when does everyone leave for school again? (Unless you have already... ahem Margarete, Steve, Emily, etc... am I forgetting anyone? meh...) Has anyone gotten any closer to deciding a major? Any beloved classes you are looking forward to? Any classes that you despise? Anyone drop college to become a professional lottery ticket winner? Well, bon chance to all this fall!

All stand for Sally, the first commenter! Heh.
My favorite parts of fall are the leaves changing colors, getting to wear jeans without being hot aaaaaand my birthday! Yep.
Sadly I don't get to leave. It's okay this year 'cause YVC ain't too bad and I get to go away next year.
I'm looking forward to spring quarter 'cause I'll be done with math then! Yea!!!! I'm also looking forward to history with Mr. Walker 'cause he's a great teacher and I am going to get an A in his class! (But I'll settle for a B in a pinch.) Ummm. . . I'm looking forward to Intervarsity worship starting hopefully this fall and getting to see friends that I haven't seen since spring quarter.
As of now I'll be majoring in social work which isn't the same thing as sociology in case anyone was wodering. (I looked it up.)

I am sadly already mourning the loss of my summer. I like the seasons, it's just hard for me to adjust sometimes when I know I'm going to be losing my hot weather. But, I went shopping today and bought some fall clothes, so that makes me feel better about it. ;) I'm still majoring in biology, most likely of the plant variety.

Yes...summer is over and I am looking forward to the cool, crisp days of fall (like the windy, cloudy day today)! I dont think I told ya'll, but I got into the athletic training program here at WSU. I started my internship last week. I am assigned to the football which I am excited about because their season is fall which mean that I have something to do. Classes are going good and I am staying very busy. The last few weeks have been going very fast considering I was in Tahoe less than 2 weeks ago.

I love fall :) It's probably my favorite season, because sometimes I can dress for warm weather, and sometimes for cool weather, and because everything is just so beautiful in the Northwest that it almost hurts to see it. I am majoring in Spanish (at least, that's the plan right now, but they say the average college student changes majors seven times or something, so I dunno), and am looking forward to taking Spanish again this year! Sept. 19 is my first day, and I am a little skeptical about my statistics class this quarter. Guess I'm just being pessimistic, though. :)

Someone needs to invent a season where the days are hot and the nights are cool. I love summer, it's my favorite season but you really can't argue with the delightful feeling snuggling up under a heap of blankets brings on a brisk winter night.
Summer went by way too fast, didn't it? I tried to get some sympathy from my mom but she just laughed and said 'Welcome to the real world.' Maybe I should give up on linguistics and become an art teacher so at least I'll have my summers off ;)

I love Autumn! Especially in Moscow. Yesterday I went out for a walk and there were some dried leaves underfoot that made a wonderful crunching sound. The days are warm (but not really hot) and the nights are cool (but not really cold).

I'm still a music ed major, despite the fact that I may be losing sanity over it. But the classes are good and I still find time to spend with friends having fun. (This is largely due to the fact that I'm living off of 6 hours of sleep per night and those warm beverages- tea, coffee, hot cocoa- that I'm so fond of this time of year.)

I mourn the loss of photosynthesis every fall . . . I'm just so sad to see it go . . . it's such an awesome process! :( And it's a good thing that animalian metabolisms slow somewhat in the cold or I'm sure there would be a dip in the level of oxygen . . . I would be surprised if anyone actually has read this far in this comment. ;)

You mourn the loss of photosynthesis? Would you rather see the poor xylem and phloem in the living leaves freeze solid and the plants die of starvation???
