I think that it's a good idea for you. You have a plan for your life, and hopefully it'll be something you'll be good at and will enjoy. I have no doubt that you'll excel in such an environment, but I wouldn't wish it for just anyone. The military would not be the right place for someone like me. I'd probably burst into tears at the first sight of someone in camo. :P
Moog's Mom says:
God bless you, Dan.
And yet Annie you went and talked to a recruiter. . .
Well Daniel Stefan ummmmmm boot camp is a little different than when you're done and actually in the Navy itself. These two months you're at boot camp I probably wouldn't have seen you anyway had you been in Yakima.
I'm happy that you're doing something you want to do, and it's certainly better than having no life and forever living with your parents. Just don't die, ok?

Plain letters would be appreciated. Evidently the Navy seriously frowns on any "funny" stuff the recruits receive and the recipient could be penalized!
Dan arrived safely (even though we haven't received a call from him yet) and we got all of his civilian clothes back home in a box through the mail yesterday. His graduation from boot camp is scheduled for March 10.

You're on my mind a lot, Dan. :) I hope you're doing okay. I look forward to the next time I'll be able to see you, bud. I promise I won't send you funny-looking letters. At least not funny-looking from the outside . . . ;)
